Joint Graduation Highlights SDC's 1st Anniversary

CAMP O'DONNEL, CAPAS, Tarlac - After a year of its creation, the Soldier Development Center role to educate and develop non-commisioned officers as leaders continued sa proven recently in the joint graduation of two classes. These served as highlights of the celebration of its existence - the SDC 1st Founding Anniversary.
Numbering 23 students, the Drill Master Course Class 28-10 was presented and declared by Master Sergeant Marcelo Y. Moreno, the course director and Senior Master Sergeant Mirando T. Baldoviso, the Non-Commisioned Officers Academy (NCOA) commandant, respectively. Likewise, Candidate Soldier Course Class 30-10 with 320 members was presented by Captain Lucio R. Janolino, course director, and declared as graduates by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander L. Feria, CSTS commandant.
Topping the DMC Class 28-10 was Corporal Abelardo G. Florendo who got the two prestigious awards at the same time with a rate of 90.57 and 92.635 for academic and physical proficiency awards respectively.
On the other hand, Candidate Soldier (CS) Cristine Belle E. Cupay got the highest grade of 90.67. Next to her was CS Jezel Frances B. Galera, 89.04 and CS Cherry Mae I. Sucgang, 88.65. They were awarded Academic Proficiency Award. Meanwhile, CS Benjamin W. Salwagan got the Physical Proficiency Award with an average of 96.23.
The anniversary celebration followed right after graduation. A brief report on what the center has done for 2010 was made by SDC director Col. Peale Jon L. Bondoc. Outstanding SDC personnel were also awarded to Sgt Alvaro B. Acojedo and Sgt. Adriano R. Gonzales.
All of the outstanding students and personnel received Certificate of Recognition awarded to them by TRADOC commander Maj. Gen. Reynaldo D. Sealana who was also the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
Unveiling of the Soldier's Monument led by TRADOC Comdr MGen SEALANA and wife Jasmin (R) witnessed by officers, men and graduates of CSC Cl 30-10 and DMC Cl 28-10 highlighting the SDC's 1st Founding Anniversary. Said statue symbolizes a soldier's unwavering service to the Filipino people. (OG7)
