War Begins at Land Warfare Center

CAMP O'DONNEL-CAPAS-Tarlac - Embarking on battle drills, immediate action drills, reaction drills, command post exercises and the like that are evaluated later is what e mean war that began at the newly created Land Warfare Center (LWC). In an interview conducted by " The Professionals" staff with LWC Director Colonel Ramon C Yogyog, plans and activities were already implemented in the early part of the year while continuing projects are ongoing.

A regular member of the defunct Adhoc committee which was later replaced by LWC, Col. Yogyog said numerous activities on training and evaluation of different exercises lined up for this year's activities.

Latest of these include a weeklong evaluation of 37IB starting February 7, 2011 and Observer, Controller and Trainer's (OCT) Training slated on 15-18. The OCT graduates in turn shall act as trainer's and evaluators to Battalion of Excellence (BOE) Training of 3rd Infantry Battalion programmed to be conducted on February 21.
Right after the BOE, the LWC personnel will proceed to 71st Infantry Battalion to evaluate its performance which was earlier trained under BOE program 2010.This is in preparation to the Balikatan exercises on April, he explained. It can be recalled that initial and final planning conferebces on the said RP-US exercises were well attended last year.
When asked about other priorities, he hastily mentioned the ongoing renovation of basic facilities at Fort Magsaysay. " I have ensure all things needed by LWC like classroom and building details apt for the Center's functions." he clarified.
